Additional Information about the marine life and snorkeling sites:
Blue Tang at Tropical Fish Gardens
At the Fisherman's Rock snorkel site as well as at the Tropical Fish Gardens snorkel site, the boat anchors close to the shallows. You will be fitted with the snorkel equipment and given safety instructions by the crew via a PA system before getting into the water. Snorkeling will be in depths from 4 to 16-feet. Your guides will get into the water with you and they will point out things of interests for you to photograph. These snorkel sites are the most pristine and offer a wide variety of tropical reef fish, corals, shells, lobsters, turtles, sea fans, starfish, eels, etc.
At the Stingray City Sandbar, the water depth is from 4 to 6 feet and the boat anchors close to the shallow so guests can actually stand-up immediately after getting into the water. Your guide will get into the water with you here and bring the stingrays up to the surface so you to interact with them. There you can feed them, pet them, and take your photos with them. There is no reason to have any fear of the Stingrays--- these are gentle marine creatures that have grown accustomed to human contact over the years.
